Spicy Basil Hummus is so delicious and with only 7 ingredients, it couldn’t be easier to make! Fresh basil, chickpeas and a touch of red pepper take this classic hummus up a few notches! Making hummus is honestly one of the easiest things to make. Really! And it is super customizable.

Ingredients

  • 8 tbsp. olive oil

  • 1/2 cup packed basil leaves

  • 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper

  • 1 tsp. salt

  • 1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes

  • 1 tsp. garlic powder

  • 2 cans garbanzo beans, drained, rinsed and deskinned

Method

  • 01
    In a high powered blender or food processor add the chickpeas, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, salt, pepper, basil and 6 tablespoons olive oil.

    You may need the other 2 tablespoons olive oil if it is not coming together and creamy.

    Place in the serving dish, and sprinkle with additional sliced basil leaves, if desired. Serve with crackers and vegetables!

Step 1
