This chocolate chip cookie is everyone's favorite! Not too dense and perfectly chewy, this quick treat is exactly what a cookie should be. The most iconic chocolate chip cookie is crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and loaded with melty morsels of chocolate chips throughout. Store dough, covered, in the refrigerator for up to 1 week or in the freezer for up to 8 weeks.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Chopped nuts

  • 2 cups Semisweet chocolate chips

  • 2 Large eggs

  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

  • 3/4 cup Packed brown sugar

  • 3/4 cup Granulated sugar

  • 1 cup Butter, softened

  • 1 teaspoon Salt

  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda

  • 2 1/4 cups All-purpose flour

    Heat oven to 375℉. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts, if using. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.

    Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
